Mazda, officially known as Mazda Motor Corporation is a Japanese auto manufacturer that produces over a million vehicles each year for consumers. The company began as Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd in 1920 and was founded by Jujiro Matsuda.  Starting up as a manufacturer of tools, Mazda switched to producing cars in 1927.

Financial difficulties in the 1960s led Mazda to team up with the Ford Motor Company. This resulted in an assembly plant within the United States and a partnership of efforts, including Mazda’s input on the Ford Explorer. Through innovations in engineering design Mazda was able to breathe new life into the brand. Currently, the manufacturer offers a number of moderately priced cars, sports cars and crossover SUVs through dealerships around the world.

Mazda designers insist that they are heading in a new direction, forging a new path in terms of innovation. Proof of this innovation is offered in the form of the Mazda Shinari Concept Car, the first vehicle ever to offer the unique Mazda global design language, KODO, as known as the “Soul of Motion.” The concept car is a four door vehicle that functions as a sports coupe as is said to reflect “KODO” in its sleek lines and graceful form.
Mazda has also worked for decades on the concept of hydrogen-powered vehicles and bio cars.
